The Bamboo Retreat is grandly located in Sikkim. Sikkim is a tiny dynasty which is located amongst Tibet, Bhutan and Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet. Sikkim is the home of many marvelous flowers and exotic orchids. It is a paradise for botanist. It is very exciting to discover the biodiversity of Sikkim.

 

From Bagdogra to Gangtok the daily helicopter service is there which takes 20 minutes. From Kathmandu there is flying to Bhadrapur which is located in east Nepal and it is 1 hour’s flight, then it is driving distance to Kakarbhitta which is located at Neal-India border from where Siliguri is situated at 37 kms and Gangtok is suitated at 110 kms. Both, New Jalpaiguri and Siliguri are the closest railhead which is connected to Calcutta, New Delhi and other cities. By road Gangtok is only 110 km from Siliguri. It will take 4 hours from siliguri to go to Gangtok. Gangtok is connected to Darjeeling by road; 4 hours. The transportation rate highly varies with the destinations you are travelling.

 

Sikkim has a sudden abrupt in its weather it is greatly influenced by different altitudes. It can drop to arctic and rise to tropics. The Gangtok which is located in the altitude of 4000-10000 ft has good climate. The periods between Marchs to May (spring) and September to November (autumn) has a pleasant weather. From June to August, there is rainfall and winter which is from December to January not only day is cold but also night is freezing. However, snowline is above 12000 ft. However, best season to visit Sikkim is March to June and September to December.
